All six clubs will play each other twice in the group round, similar to most franchise tournaments, with teams receiving two points for a victory, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. The top four clubs will be given postseason eligibility.
The top two teams will face off in Qualifier 1 in a little shift from last year’s knockout stage, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete in an Eliminator. The victor of Qualifier 1 advances directly to the championship round, while the loser competes against the victor of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. To decide the victors, the winner of Qualifier 2 will compete against the winner of Qualifier 1 in the final.
Which teams are participating in CPL 2022?
CPL 2022 has six teams that are in competition. They are the competition’s original members Trinbago Knight Riders, St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St. Lucia Kings (formerly St. Lucia Zouks), and Barbados Royals (previously Barbados Tridents), who all joined in 2015.
The most successful CPL team is Trinbago Knight Riders, who won the championship four times in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020. Both the Barbados Royals (2014, 2019) and Jamaica Tallawahs (2013, 2016) have won two championships.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors have been extremely unlucky throughout the history of the CPL since despite making it to the championship game five times, they have never won it.
The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots are the current champions after defeating the St Lucia Kings in the championship game a year ago. Only twice have both teams met in the championship game.

Who are the international players to take part in cpl 2022?
Imran Tahir (from Guyana) and Faf du Plessis (from St. Lucia), two fan favourites, are returning to the competition this year as South Africa dominates the international signings. With David Miller and Quinton de Kock joining the Barbados Royals, the Warriors will have an exciting leg-spinning duo in Tabraiz Shamsi and Tahir.
Other notable foreign athletes include the New Zealand quartet of Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, and David Wiese (all for Trinidad and Tobago); the effective Pakistani bowler Mohammed Amir (for Jamaica); and the talented Singaporean star Tim David, who will play for St. Lucia.
There might be up to 30 foreign signings overall. There are 11 South Africans among the players, along with three each from Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, two from Afghanistan, and one each from Ireland, Nepal, Australia, Singapore, Namibia, and the USA. There won’t be any English competitors in this year’s competition.

Powell is a middle-order hitter who sporadically bowls at a medium tempo and is renowned for his powerful hitting. With a List A average of 30.28, he has consistently performed well when playing for Jamaica domestically. Although he has been in and out of the West Indies team, he has played in each of their last three Twenty20 games against India. He has the potential to be a very devastating player if given enough time in the crease.
Quinton de Kock of the Barbados Royals
The South African wicket-keeper batsman, who is playing in the CPL for the first time, is guaranteed to light up this competition. Despite posting three consecutive low scores in the T20 series versus England, he still has a very good 31.86 average and five hundreds. The Royals will be hoping that De Kock gives them a competitive edge.
Imran Tahir, of the Guyana Amazon Warriors
One of the best entertainers is Tahir. Tahir is a favourite among the crowd and a fierce and well-respected competitor thanks to his distinctive bowling motion and expressive celebration. He made history last year when he became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in The Hundred’s debut competition. In recent years, he has been at his best. He will play in his third straight CPL season with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Watch out for his “marathon” party.
Dominic Drakes vs. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots
Dominic Drakes, who was named player of the game in the previous year’s final, won the competition after scoring an incredible 48 runs off of 24 balls. Drakes, who joined the Patriots in 2019 after leaving the Barbados Royals, has contributed significantly to the team with both his bowling and his batting.
Roston Chase’s St. Lucia Kings
Chase, a former key spin-bowler for the West Indies Test team, has evolved into a superb all-rounder for the game’s shortest format. With 446 runs, Chase led the CPL in scoring last season. Despite his team’s heartbreaking loss, the Barbadian was named player of the competition. Fans will be hoping that he can continue in this vein so that the Kings may advance farther and win their first championship.
Kieron Pollard of the Trinbago Knight Riders
A legend of the CPL is Kieron Pollard. In 2014, he guided the Royals to the championship, and in 2020, he led the Knight Riders to their fourth championship. He can hit balls to all parts, with a 31.2 T20 average, and a maximum score of 104. If their captain has a successful season, the Knight Riders will have a very good chance of winning their fifth CPL championship.
